Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines joins A350 club

Read More » The official handover of the wide-body, registration B58501, took place at the Toulouse headquarters of Airbus late last week. The aircraft landed at Taipei Taoyuan airport on October 29. Starlux, which flies an all-Airbus fleet of A320, A330 and now A350 airplanes, has ordered 18 A350s. “This delivery is a milestone for Starlux Airlines,” CEO Glenn Chai said. “With the addition of the A350-900, Starlux can cover short, mid and long range flights, providing service to passengers outside of Asia.”
Airbus chief commercial officer and head of International, Christian Scherer, added: “Flying together, the A350, A330neo and A321neo perfectly play out the advantages of the unique fleet commonality Airbus offers, driving down operational costs and providing the flexibility to match capacity with demand.” Starlux is expected to begin A350 operations within the Asia-Pacific before launching trans-Pacific services.
