Virgin Australia (VA) has restored codesharing on Singapore Airlines (SIA) flights between Australia and Singapore and from Singapore to destinations across Asia, Africa and Europe. Read More » The VA airline code has been added on SIA services to 42 destinations in 23 countries. “Singapore Airlines has been a valued partner of Virgin Australia for well over a decade. We are excited to resume the sale of codeshare flights, creating a more seamless booking experience for our customers,” VA group chief strategy and transformation officer, Alistair Hartley, said. VA operated a broad-ranging codeshare partnership on SIA's global network before it entered voluntary administration in the early months of 2020 due to COVID-19. “The return of the VA code on SIA flights provides more opportunities for Australians to seamlessly explore the world, no matter where they are based,” SIA senior vice president of marketing planning, JoAnn Tan, said. “As more countries across Asia remove travel restrictions, it opens Australia to travellers from these regions.”
