Regional airline association calls for better government coordination to support industry recovery

The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) has concluded its annual Assembly of Presidents with a call for governments to adopt a more coordinated approach to regulation as the industry continues its recovery. Read More » “AAPA carriers have shown great resilience in confronting the challenges of the prolonged pandemic while maintaining the highest safety standards,” AAPA director-general, Subhas Menon, said. “However, the lack of coordinated travel requirements across borders and the burden of restrictive government regulations have held back recovery and growth at Asia's airlines, impeding their ability to fully contribute to the social and economic development of the region.” The airline lobby group's members also passed resolutions on passenger facilitation, safety and sustainability at the THAI-hosted Bangkok gathering.
