Malaysia airports operator narrows September quarter losses

Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB) has reported a net loss of 9 million ringgit (US$2.1 million) for the three months to September 30 compared with a net loss of 182.3 million ringgit in the same months in 2021. Read More » Revenue improved 87.2%, to 863.6 million ringgit, MAHB informed the Bursa Malaysia stock exchange this week. The improved financial results were underpinned by a continuing recovery in passenger traffic at MAHB airports in Malaysia and Turkey, it said. “Based on the last several months, we can see passenger traffic is consistently improving and recovering well compared with pre-pandemic levels,” MAHB group managing director, Dato' Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, said. “Similar to the last two years, we will continue to be prudent in managing our costs. At the same time, we will increase our pursuit of non-aeronautical avenues to strengthen the group’s financial position.”
