A source told the Manila Standard that incumbent PAL president Ramon Ang would relinquish his post after a 45-day transition period as stipulated in the sale agreement. Joseph Chua, current president and chief executive officer of MacroAsia Corp. and a son-in-law of Tan, will then assume the presidency, while former president Jaime “Jimmy” Bautista will fill the role of general manager.

Both men are no strangers to PAL. Chua served as director of PAL from August 2003 to April 2012, while Bautista served as president and chief operating officer until the San Miguel Corp. buyout in 2012.
