Air India to add 12 more leased aircraft to fleet

Read More » The aircraft are scheduled to join the India carrier’s fleet in the first half of 2023. “Growing our network is an essential part of Air India’s Vihaan AI transformational journey. We remain committed to increasing the connectivity and frequency of flights domestically and internationally,” Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said. “These additional leased aircraft will support our near-term growth as we finalise plans to refresh and significantly grow our long-term fleet.” The six Airbus and six Boeing airliners are additions to the carrier’s previously announced leases for 21 A320s, four A321s and five 777-200LRs. The Star Alliance member also is returning to service Air India aircraft grounded during COVID-19 as part of an “aggressive expansion plan”.
