Cathay Pacific flew 31.4% more passengers after local entry rules relaxed

CEO-designate, Ronald Lam, said “sentiment and demand for travel out of Hong Kong continued to improve in November”. Compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, the airline’s November passenger numbers were 20.1% of the 2.6 million travellers it flew in November 2019. Capacity for the month was 27% of pre-pandemic available seat kilometres. Travel demand continued to improve ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the airline said. “We expect short haul routes to leisure destinations such as Japan and Southeast Asia will remain strong and continue into the Chinese New Year holiday in late January,” Lam said.
