As reported previously in This Week in Asia-Pacific Aviation, Air New Zealand (ANZ) is delaying the service introduction of its new B787-9 on the Auckland – Shanghai and Auckland – Narita routes due to ‘unknown reasons’. Read More »

We spoke to ANZ representatives at a Hong Kong event late last week and were told the delay has actually nothing to do with ANZ. Rather, Boeing is late in delivering the new aircraft to the airline.

It is unclear whether ANZ will seek compensation from Boeing.
