Global airline association reports 8% decline in 2022 cargo demand

Read More » Against pre-COVID-19 performance, CTKs in 2022 were 1.6% below 2019, the last full year before the outbreak of the pandemic. “The continuing measures by key governments to fight inflation by cooling economies are expected to result in a further decline in cargo volumes in 2023 to -5.6% compared with 2019,” IATA director general, Willie Walsh, said. “It will, however, take time for these measures to bite into cargo rates.”
