Mitsubishi SpaceJet program cancelled

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) yesterday (February 7) cancelled the SpaceJet commercial aircraft program and announced its Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation subsidiary will be liquidated after years of delays and billions of dollars lost in development costs. Read More » MHI CEO Seiji Izumisawa said, media reports, that the decision was regrettable and apologised for the SpaceJet falling short of the finish line. Launched in 2007, the SpaceJet, then known as the Mitsubishi Regional Jet, had targeted certification for 2012.
