Virgin Australia boosts cargo operations

Virgin Australia’s (VA) cargo unit has signed a 10-year lease on a new air freight cargo facility at Tamania’s Launceston Airport. Read More » Construction of the A$4 million (US$2.8 million) facility, to be operated by VA's cargo partner, Aus Flight Handling, is scheduled for completion by September. “We are delighted to partner with Launceston Airport to expand our cargo operations and welcome the support of the Tasmanian Government in developing stronger trade in the state in the next decade,” VA chief strategy and transformation officer, Alistair Hartley, said.
