Rex announces US$11.1 million interim loss; reports 191.7% revenue jump

Australia's Regional Express (Rex) recorded a net loss of A$16.5 million (US$11.1 million) for the six months to December 31, improving its performance from an A$36.7 million net loss in the same months in 2021. Read More » Revenue was better by 191.7%, at A$339.8 million, Rex said in a regulatory filing. Executive chairman, Lim Kim Hai, described the airline’s first half as “pleasing” given its 737-800 services “only really operated in a relatively COVID-free environment from late February 2022”. The regional airline is “cautiously optimistic” it will book a positive operating profit for the 2022-2023 financial year, barring external shocks.
