U.S. removes COVID-19 test requirements for travellers from Greater China

The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has ruled passengers arriving in the U.S. from the People's Republic of China (PRC), Hong Kong and Macau nonstop, or via a designated airport, no longer need proof of a COVID negative PCR test to enter the country. Read More » The requirement was introduced in January, when the Mainland was recording an infection surge after its sudden easing of restrictions and a re-opening of its border to international travel. “Current available epidemiologic data analysed through global datasets and modelling results indicate the COVID-19 surge experienced by the PRC has returned to a baseline level,” the CDC order said. “In addition, no variants of concern have been identified as emerging from the PRC at this time.”
