Australian domestic air fares remained elevated in March

Read More » The monthly index of domestic air fares from Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE), which analyses the lowest available fare in each class weighted across selected routes, said its measure of “best discount” economy fares had risen 4.9 index points, or 6.7%, to 78.5 points to March. The “restricted economy” index was up 12.7 points, or 18.4%, to 81.7, and the index for business class fares was 14.9 points, or 7.7% higher, at 60.8.
