Air Lease Corporation said in its annual report it expected delays for all aircraft deliveries it has ordered to persist for the rest of the year. “Boeing and Airbus have expressed their desire to increase production rates on several aircraft types. However, they have yet to meaningfully increase production,” the lessor said. “At their current production pace, we do not currently see this improving the delivery delay situation at least through 2023. We remain in discussions with Boeing and Airbus to determine the extent and duration of delivery delays, but we are not yet able to determine the full impact of these delays.”

Airbus cabin and cargo lead for its A321XLR's cross functions team, Tuan Wei Chung, said the long-range narrow-body's flight test program is scheduled to “include a dedicated flight of up to seven hours with Airbus employees acting in the roles of passengers on board,” Tuan said. “Various comfort aspects will be asked, not only from the passengers, but from the crew. We will conduct surveys to assess the passenger comfort level during the long flights with regard to temperature and noise.”

Atlas Air Worldwide has completed its transition to a privately held company after its acquisition by an Apollo Global Management, J.F. Lehman & Company and Hill City Capital led consortium was finalised on March 17.

China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co. has reported net profit fell 14.6%, to 3.4 billion yuan (US$487 million), for calendar 2022, from 3.9 billion yuan a year earlier.

FedEx’s net profit declined 30.5%, to US$771 million, in the three months to February 28, from US$1.1 billion in the year ago period. The company has lifted its earnings forecast for the current fiscal year, ending on May 31, as a result of cost and efficiency initiatives implemented amid soft global volumes.

Malaysia Airlines Berhad is offering a multi-currency e-wallet in the form of a Visa prepaid card and digital app through its Enrich frequent flyer program in partnership with Merchantrade Asia.

Swiss Aviation Software said SriLankan Airlines has chosen its AMOS MRO software solution and cloud hosting service. It will enable the carrier to perform all line and base maintenance paperlessly. The new system will be live by the end of the year.
