Air India cuts on board single-use plastic by 80%

Air India has reduced single-use plastic on board its domestic and international flights by 80% as its in-house team work with catering partners and other vendors to minimise the airline's environmental impact. Read More » The Star Alliance member's initiatives include using one litre water bottles instead of smaller 500ml plastic water bottles in its service delivery, replacing plastic packaging with paper alternatives and introducing reusable linen bags. “Air India continues to integrate environmental and social principles in its businesses in its goal of becoming one of the world’s most environmentally sensitive organisations,” Air India said, and added it is working to introduce paper cutlery in its economy class cabins.
