Bangkok Airways returns to profit in March quarter

Bangkok Airways has reported a net profit of 875.1 million baht (US$26 million) for the three months to March 31, returning to the black from a net loss of 1 billion baht in the same months in 2022. Read More » Revenue was up 238.2%, to 5.7 billion baht, Bangkok Airways said in a regulatory filing. Costs increased by 79.6%, to 4.5 billion baht. “In the first quarter of 2023, the global aviation industry significantly recovered after the removal of travel restrictions, especially in China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, and higher travel demand,” Bangkok Airways said. “The company adjusted flight frequencies to support the increase in international travellers in the first quarter.”
