Qantas Group farewells an historic 717

Read More » The 717, registration VH-NXI, left Sydney on May 29 and headed to North America where it will continue flying with another carrier. Qantas is replacing its 20 717s with 29 A220s. “It’s the end of an era for these Boeing 717s. They have played a crucial role in connecting Australians across our domestic and regional networks for more than two decades,” Qantas Group CEO, Alan Joyce, said. “The new aircraft we will be receiving are much more capable than the aircraft they are replacing. They can fly further, are much quieter and more efficient and provide a great experience for our passengers.” VH-NXI was part of the inaugural fleet of Jetstar Airways, the LCC Qantas launched in May 2004.
