Japan Airlines (JAL) and Yamato Holdings said the first aircraft to undergo passenger-to-freighter conversion entered the ST Engineering facility in Singapore on May 8. Read More » The pair announced in January 2022 plans to commence domestic freighter operations in Japan in April 2024 using three A321ceo passenger-to-freighter converted aircraft. "The refurbishment process is estimated to be completed by mid-September, with a ferry flight to Japan scheduled for late October," JAL and Yamato Holdings said. "The second and third aircraft are currently parked in France." JAL group LCC, Spring Japan, was scheduled to operate training flights starting in November 2023 on a Tokyo Narita-Kitakyushu-Osaka Kansai-Tokyo Narita routing.
