Repairing an Asiana Airlines A321 damaged last month when a passenger tried to open an exit door on the aircraft’s final approach to Daegu has been estimated to cost 640 million won (US$496,000). Read More » Local media, quoting data from the South Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) released by local legislator, Jang Chul-min, said. Nine people were injured as a result of the May 21 incident aboard flight OZ8124, operated by A321 registration HL8256. A male passenger has been charged following the incident. Local media said the MOLIT had suggested to aviation regulators in the U.S. and the European Union that they consider introducing a warning sound when the lever cover of an emergency exit door is opened during flight.
