Avolon's World Fleet Forecast estimates financing of US$4 trillion will be required in the next two decades to pay or to lease the 44,300 new passenger aircraft lessors expect customers to require in the next 20 years.

Embraer and Nidec Motor Corporation are setting up Nidec Aerospace to jointly develop and manufacture electric propulsion systems for aeronautical applications including vertical take-off and landing vehicles and fixed-wing aircraft. The transaction is scheduled to be finalised by December this year.

Spirit AeroSystems said the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) union has recommended members employed at the company's Wichita facility approve a new four-year work contract.
