ATR announces orders for 22 aircraft and two options at Paris Air Show

Turboprop manufacturer, ATR said overnight that China Airlines subsidiary, Mandarin Airlines, has committed to six 72-600s with deliveries from year-end to 2025. Read More » It also signed a heads of agreement with Malaysia-based Berjaya Air for two 72-600s, in all-business class configurations, for delivery in 2025 and 2026. At the air show, ATR announced it had booked orders with Brazil-headquartered Azul for three 72-600s and eight 72-600s and 42-600s from undisclosed customers. “These new aircraft orders demonstrate clear recovery signs from Southeast Asia, traditionally one of ATR’s largest markets,” ATR CEO, Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, said. “We are confident that in due time the efficiency of our product offering, the lack of available second hand aircraft and traffic exceeding pre-COVID levels in certain regions will produce demand for low-emission and versatile aircraft to support fleet replacement and the growth plans of regional operators.”
