Virgin Australia and CAE begin full flight simulator training in Perth

Virgin Australia (VA), in partnership global simulator and training company, CAE, is starting 737NG full flight simulator training at its Perth Australia base. Read More » The Australian carrier said its 200 pilots based in Western Australia will benefit from access to the full flight simulator, particularly cockpit crew flying for Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) as the subsidiary transitions from the Fokker 100 to the 737NG. “The simulator has the potential to support more than 5,000 hours of flight crew training in its first operational year, it will deliver greater efficiency and yield significant cost savings in our training program with less travel required for Perth-based pilots completing their initial and recurrent training,” VA chief operations officer, Stuart Aggs, said. “We are delighted to partner with CAE. It shares our commitment to upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.” VA also conducts simulator training in Brisbane and Melbourne.
