The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has proposed a phased plan to divide the air traffic flow between Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the newly built Long Thanh International Airport; scheduled to open in June 2026, with no new international flight permits to be granted at Tan Son Nhat.
