Overview

It has been a fast-evolving week in Asia-Pacific aviation. New carriers in Mainland China continued to impress with significant aircraft purchases, making no disguise of their growth ambitions. Over in the Philippines, two airlines were grounded on safety concerns, while at Air India in Delhi, a significant number of potential cockpit crew was rejected on psychological grounds, giving way to the question of how mentally sound our pilots indeed are, and whether such tests should be implemented industry-wide.
