A trusted source of Asia-Pacific commercial aviation news and analysis

NOVEMBER 2015

Week 45

Overview

The reporting season is in full swing in the region with Asia-Pacific carriers performing well in the first three quarters of the year. In particular, Japan Airlines (JAL) and China’s Big Three have exceeded analysts’ expectations, while Thai Airways International (THAI) and Singapore’s Tigerair remain near the bottom of the performance chart. To put a stop to the haemorrhaging, Tigerair investor, Singapore Airlines' (SIA) this week offered to take full control of the carrier and delist it. Meanwhile, the majority of carriers have rerouted their flights away from the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt as new evidence appears to suggest the Russian A321 was brought down by a bomb attack.
