Overview

It has been a pensive second MH370 anniversary week in the Asia-Pacific as the latest interim report revealed no new clues about the missing B777. To mark the date, the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s 36-member council adopted three binding resolutions to prevent the loss of commercial aircraft experiencing distress in remote locations. At Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong, the airline almost doubled its annual profit, to HK$6 billion (US$773 million), for the 2015 year, beating analysts’ forecasts of a profit of HK$5.32 billion.
