Orient Aviation’s Week in the Asia-Pacific

It’s been a fast-developing week in Asia-Pacific aviation. In Taiwan, TransAsia Airways went belly-up on a day’s notice, leaving thousands of passengers stranded. In Toulouse, Airbus' A350-1000 took to the skies for the first time on Thursday. Carriers from the Asia-Pacific who attended the festivities said they look forward to receiving the 366-seater next year. In Tokyo, Peach Aviation ordered the A320neo, becoming Japan’s first low-cost carrier to fly the re-engined single aisle aircraft, and in Nadi, Fiji Airways endorsed the B737 MAX with an order for five MAX 8s from 2018.
