Orient Aviation’s Week in the Asia-Pacific

It’s been a week of firsts in Asia-Pacific aviation. Boeing secured export licences for 80 aircraft for Iran Air, Emirates Airline received the first Trent 900-powered A380, China Southern Airlines and HK Express both took their first A320neos and United Airlines announced Hong Kong as its first B777-300ER Polaris route. In Singapore, Tiger Airways Holdings decided to sell its equity in Tigerair Taiwan to China Airlines (CAL), while the local authorities cleared the SIA-Lufthansa Joint venture. In Delhi, Air India and VietJet Air signed an unexpected partnership agreement and in Australia, Qantas Airways confirmed Perth-London nonstop flights from 2018 after settling a fees dispute with Perth Airport.
