Capital A's Tony Fernandes sells off equity in in English football club

Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes, has sold his holding in west London football club, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), to focus on AirAsia and company's digital businesses. Read More » Fernandes bought into QPR in 2011. “While stepping away from QPR was a difficult decision, it has been made with the clear determination that my time and expertise are needed elsewhere,” Fernandes said. “Now AirAsia is coming back in full throttle and growing again, I owe it to our Allstars and our shareholders to give 100% of my focus to rebuilding the airline business and expanding our digital companies to provide value for the people of ASEAN, where there is strong demand for low-cost, high value products and services.” Fernandes stepped down as co-chair of QPR in 2018.
