ZIPAIR revamps ancillary options and check-in luggage fees

Japan’s ZIPAIR is simplifying its optional check-in and carry-on baggage charges and also its bundled ancillary products. Read More » From October 29, passengers will have a checked baggage option of one piece weighing no more than 30 kg compared with the three options of varying weights now allowed. The additional carry-on ancillary item is changing from 5 kg to 8 kg at the end of October. Passengers can pay an additional fee to bring on board up to 15 kg of luggage. The Japan Airlines-owned LCC will discontinue the “biz” bundle of an additional carry-on allowance and seat selection. The “value” and “premium” bundles of a 30 kg check-in baggage allowance and a 15 kg carry-on allowance will be retained in the revised fee structure.
