Regional Express leases two more 737-800s for expanding capital city network

Australia's Regional Express (Rex) has signed lease agreements that will add two 737-800s to its fleet. Read More » The first aircraft will be delivered to Rex later this month and the second in mid-September. Rex already operates seven 737-800s. “The arrival of these aircraft is another step forward in fulfilling our ambition to fly to and between every capital city in Australia,” Rex deputy chairman, John Sharp, said. “We believe it is best to grow in a measured way, ensuring capacity meets demand. We also need to be flexible as aviation is a dynamic industry where the only constant is change.” Rex is considering the acquisition of another two 737-800s in 2023-2024, Sharp said.
