Air India signs order for 800 plus CFM LEAP engines

CFM International has confirmed Air India has finalised an order for more than 800 LEAP engines to power the flag carrier’s recent order of A320neo family and 737 MAX family aircraft. Read More » Air India and the joint venture engine OEM also have signed a services agreement to cover the Star Alliance member’s LEAP engines. “We are delighted to celebrate with CFM a major deal that will play a key role in our future development,” Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said. “The introduction on a greater scale of the LEAP engine and also our services agreement will help us optimise our operations in terms of environmental footprint and operational cost while benefiting our customers.” Air India confirmed an order for 210 A320neo family aircraft and 190 737 MAX family aircraft at June’s Paris Air Show. “This order strengthens our presence in India and commits us to assist Air India’s development with the best CFM standards of reliability, efficiency and customer support,” CFM International CEO, Gaël Méheust, said.
