Thai AirAsia parent narrows losses to US$19 million for first half 2023

Asia Aviation Public Company Ltd (AAV), the parent company of Thai AirAsia, has reported a net loss of 653.1 million baht (US$19 million) for the six months to June 30, an improvement on a net loss of 7.1 billion baht in the same months a year ago. Read More » Revenue jumped 324%, to 19.6 billion baht, AAV said in a regulatory filing. “The company anticipates strong tourism momentum will continue in the second half of 2023,” AAV said. At June 30, Thai AirAsia's capacity and passenger numbers were at 77% and 83%, respectively, of pre-pandemic levels, the LCC said. “Thai AirAsia maintains its full-year guidance of 20 million air passengers,” AAV said. “This year is expected to mark a return to normalcy as the pandemic is gradually relegated to the past.”
