China Aircraft Leasing and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise forge deal for 64 737 MAXs

In an agreement signed earlier this week, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has acquired the “rights, interests and obligations” of 64 737 MAX family aircraft from China Aircraft Leasing Corporation (CALC). DAE CEO, Firoz Tarapore, said about 20% of the aircraft acquired in the deal was leased to existing DAE airline clients. “We look forward to expanding our relationship with them. The remainder of the acquired portfolio will be placed directly by DAE in the coming quarters,” Tarapore said. CALC said the agreement was a good opportunity for the group to adjust its Boeing fleet portfolio to the group’s existing operations and contribute to its long-term sustainable development. “In its ordinary and usual course of business, the group will continue to consider, from time to time, the acquisition of more aircraft from Boeing, pursuant to any future agreements, or other aircraft manufacturers,” CALC said.
