Cebu Pacific trialling electric ground handling vehicles at Manila hub

Cebu Pacific (CEB) is starting an electric baggage tractor trial at Manila airport to test the feasibility of operating several zero-emission electric baggage tractors for towing carts and dollies across the airfield. Read More » “Our objectives for this demo run are multi-pronged,” Cebu Pacific chief operations officer, Javier Massot, said. “Electric vehicles are a relatively new area for CEB. We want to test the technology and its operational viability and safety. We also intend to test the demo unit for various scenarios in our ground operations so we are deploying it for airport and cargo operations during the demo period.” The electric vehicle and charging station has been provided by TLD Asia Limited (TLD), the LCC said.
