Japan Airlines donates cash; encourages frequent fliers to give miles to wildfire victims

Japan Airlines (JAL) is supporting victims of the Maui wildfires by donating 10 million yen (US$68,428) to the Maui Strong Fund, managed by the Hawaii Community Foundation. Read More » Other support measures include JAL Mileage Bank frequent flyers donating miles, collection of donations from JAL passengers at Honolulu Airport and the JALPAK Aloha Stations in Waikiki, fundraising by staff and the giving of a portion of revenue raised from JALPAK tours to the rescue effort. “Japan Airlines expresses our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to those impacted by the wildfires on Maui Island in Hawaii,” the airline said. “JAL sincerely prays for an expeditious recovery and restoration and is providing support as outlined.”
