Korean Air to conduct voluntary passenger weight survey

Korean Air (KAL) is to undertake a voluntary survey of passenger body weights on some domestic and international flights; a process required by South Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Read More » The compulsory survey measures the average weight of passengers and is conducted every five years, local media has reported quoting a KAL spokesperson. The survey will be carried out from August 28 to September 6 for domestic flights and from September 8 to September 19 for international flights. Data collected is 100% anonymous. The previous survey, completed in 2017, found the average weight of a male passenger was 81kg and 69 kg for a female passenger.
