Qantas Group books US$1.1 billion fiscal year profit

As a result of strong travel demand and high ticket prices, Qantas Group has reported a net profit of A$1.74 billion (US$1.1 billion) for the 12 months to June 30 compared with a net loss of A$860 million in the previous fiscal year. Read More » Revenue increased 117.6%, to A$19.8 billion, the airline group, Qantas Airways and Jetstar, said in a regulatory filing. The oneworld alliance member also has confirmed orders for 12 A350-1000s, four 787-9s and eight 787-10s. The new aircraft will replace the group’s 24 A330s with deliveries to commence in 2027. “Travel demand is extremely robust,” Qantas Group CEO, Alan Joyce, said.
