Virgin Australia introduces origin to destination baggage tracking on selected routes

Passengers travelling on selected Virgin Australia (VA) domestic flights can now track their baggage from the moment it is checked in to its arrival on the luggage carousel at their destinations. Read More » The launch of the baggage tracking tool on the VA app follows a pilot program conducted in May that was available on 70% of the airline's domestic network. “We know the potential of lost baggage is a concern for travellers globally and anticipate today’s announcement will give many guests that extra level of comfort of knowing where their bag is at every step of the journey,” VA group chief customer and digital officer, Paul Jones, said. “We are proud to launch this feature while having some of the lowest figures in the market for mishandled or lost bags, at a rate of 1.5 per 1,000 guests. It is five times better than the last recorded industry average.”
