Upsetting Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airlines, and some other industry veterans, was the decision by the taskforce established by the United Nation’s International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to explore threats to civil aviation, when it ruled that the existing framework is “fit for purpose” and that individual states should continue to be responsible for the safety of operations in their airspace. Read More » Discussions on the findings are expected to be held at ICAO’s high-level safety conference next February, where all 192 member states and the ICAO leadership are due to discuss, and potentially rework, a conflict-zone work program for 2015.
