Global air cargo demand steady in July

Read More » Despite the flat year-on-year result, IATA noted this represented an improvement on recent performance and was particularly significant given the declines in global trade volumes and rising concerns over China’s economy. "It continues a trend of strengthening demand that began in February," IATA director-general, Willie Walsh, said. "How this trend will evolve in the coming months will be something to watch carefully." Walsh said there were signs of shorter delivery times, an indicator of increasing economic activity. "Amid these mixed signals, strengthening demand gives us good reason to be cautiously optimistic," Walsh said. CTKs among Asia-Pacific airlines rose 2.7% year-on-year in July, IATA said.
