SIA group reports 43.5% passenger growth in August update

Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) carried 2.99 million passengers in August against 2.08 million air travellers transported in the matching 31 days a year ago. Read More » The group’s carriers, Singapore Airlines and Scoot, said passenger load factor for the month was 88.2%, an increase of 2.8 percentage points from 85.4% a year earlier. “The Singapore Airlines Group’s passenger traffic and load factors remained robust across all route regions in August even though passenger capacity increased 26.3% year-on-year,” SIA said in a regulatory filing. Compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, SIA's passenger numbers for the 31 days were 90.2% of the 3.31 million customers flown in the same month in 2019. Capacity, or Available Seat Kilometres (ASK), was 89.6% of the ASKs operated by the group four years ago.
