First Mainland China visitors arrive in Thailand under visa-free arrangements

Read More » The Thailand Government has relaxed visa requirements for passport holders of Mainland China and Kazakhstan until February 29 2024 as part of efforts to boost tourism. During this five-month period, Mainland China citizens can enter Thailand and stay for up to 30 days for tourism purposes without a visa. Thailand has set a target of having 25-30 million tourists generating 2.38 trillion baht (US$77.5 billion) in revenue in 2023. "It will help stimulate inbound travel from China, which is one of Thailand’s key source tourist markets, and Kazakhstan, which is considered an emerging market, especially during this coming high tourist season," Thailand Minister of Tourism and Sports, Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, said. "Ultimately, it will help revive Thai tourism and reach the revenue target set for this year."
