AI Engineering Services said in a post on social media it had inducted its first 737 MAX aircraft, a SpiceJet 737 MAX 8 registration VT-MAX, for a 36-month check at its Trivandrum facility. "We're thrilled to be the first MRO in the Indian subcontinent to perform heavy maintenance on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft," AIESL said in a post on social media.

Rolls-Royce said a gas turbine in development to power hybrid-electric flight successfully completed its first fuel burn. "This significant achievement follows the fast-paced development time of the new gas turbine from concept freeze to ‘pass to test’ in under two years," Rolls-Royce customer director for electrical, Matheu Parr, said. "The turbogenerator system will enable our customers to extend the routes that electric flight can support and means more passengers will be able to travel further on low and potentially net zero emissions aircraft."

Sabre has launched in partnership with Google and Hopper a new product, Upgrade IQ, to give airlines an opportunity to sell premium cabin seats and better manage seat upgrades.

Spirit AeroSystems has signed a maintenance, repair and overhaul service agreement with Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company Limited.

ST Engineering said it had signed a multi-year contracts with Japan Airlines covering maintenance-by-the-hour support of its A321P2F (passenger to freighter) aircraft and 737-800 fleets.
