China Eastern Airlines (CEA) and Turkish Airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance their Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) and seek the necessary approvals from regulatory authorities for “further major steps”. The Turkish flag carrier flies daily to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai-Pudong. “China Eastern Airlines and Turkish Airlines have a good foundation for cooperation,” CEA CEO, Li Yangmin, said. “We look forward to strengthening communications and exchanges between the two sides and cooperating in the fields of domestic and international transit, ground services and networks to jointly create a better future for both sides.” Turkish Airlines CEO, Bilal Ekşi, said: “In addition to our direct flights, we will continue to take the necessary actions to ensure our growth in the Chinese market in line with cooperation with our valued partners in the region.”
