Malaysia’s airports note “normalising”of travel trends

Malaysia Airport Group has reported its airports across Malaysia handled 7.4 million passengers in August, up 10% from the 6.7 million air travellers the airport operator processed in July. Read More » August’s average daily total of about 240,000 passengers was a new daily high for the airport group. Traffic was buoyed by locals returning to their home states to vote in six state elections, an extra public holiday for the elections, school holidays and Malaysia's National Day. “Traffic movements are charting a trend similar to pre-pandemic traffic peaks of festive seasons and school and public holidays, indicating travel trends are gradually normalising,” Malaysia Airports Group said.
