Global airline association attracts more airline partners to its emissions calculator

Read More » The airline lobby group said Aerolineas Argentinas, Air Baltic, LATAM Airlines Group, Luxair and Nile Air had joined CO₂ Connect which uses airline data, including fuel burn, belly cargo and load factors, to calculate per passenger CO₂ emissions. IATA receives operational data from about 150 airlines. “Accessing the most accurate operational data is key to achieving global consistency and alignment in CO₂ emissions calculations,” IATA senior vice president commercial products and services, Frederic Leger, said. “Continuously expanding our data sources will enhance IATA CO₂ Connect’s calculation quality far beyond any theory-based or model-based tools can achieve.”
