Singapore Airlines reports 36% passenger increase in September

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group said passengers carried rose 36%, to 2.9 million in September, from 2.1 million air travellers a year ago. Read More » Available Seat Kilometres (ASK), at the group’s two airlines, Singapore Airlines and Scoot, were higher by 24.8% year-on-year, SIA reported in a regulatory filing. “In September 2023, the Singapore Airlines Group continued to see robust demand for air travel as we approach the end of the summer season in the northern hemisphere,” SIA said. The group's passenger load factor rose 0.7 percentage points, to 87.7%, in the 30 days. Compared with its pre-COVID-19 performance, the Star Alliance member reached 93.1% of the 3.1 million passengers flown in September 2019. ASKs climbed to 90.6% of four years ago.
