India's airlines record 12.2 million domestic air travellers in September

Airlines across India carried 12.2 million in-country passengers last month, up 18.3% from 10.4 million domestic passengers flown in September 2022, India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said. LCC IndiGo maintained its position as India’s largest domestic airline by passengers with 7.8 million customers, or 63.4% of the domestic market, for the 30 days. Vistara was runner up at 1.23 million passengers (10% market share) followed by Air India at 1.20 million customers (9.8% market share) and AirAsia India with 816,000 passengers (6.7% market share).
